NLP VISUALIZATION PART 2

NLP VISUALIZATION PART 2

To continue the talk about the combat mindset and how we can use the NLP ( Neuro Linguistic Programming ) techniques and here I speak especially about the visualization methods I will share with you other tips regarding the mental exercises that you can include in your training.

Is very important to understand that you need a lot of practice, is not something that  you do from time to time. The same when we talk about acquiring a combat skill, we must train repeating again and again the techniques until the brain, the subconscious take control on that type of movement and action. The Brain is very complex so we must implement this practice and program it in such a way that in a real situation will have a response, what we don’t want is in that moment to freeze block for a long time because this can cost us the life.

This kind of techniques are really deadly . This combat visualizations are effective and extremely serious methods.

There are many examples of fighters that are using visualization, some examples are:

Muhammad Ali, Georges St Pierre, Jon Jones, Dan Gable, Khabib, Conor McGregor and Mike Tyson. And of course many other top athletes that are not fighters. But we apply this methods to combat.

Many are connecting the visualization techniques with spirituality and different religious branches like Buddhism, Hinduism or disciplines like yoga or tai chi but in reality even if is true and we find visualization in many places this doesn’t mean that it cannot be separated from the spiritual side. Basically NLP is touching the scientific side of this methods, buy analyzing and studying the effects and results on the human brain.

Of course that you need knowledge regarding how to visualize, what to visualize and so on.

When I talk about visualization I am trying to give to the normal citizens that were not having a direct contact with violence( life or death situations) a method to construct a combat mindset that can increase their chances of not having a blockage or a prolong freeze stage. But this techniques must be part of any warrior, any PROTECTOR, beginner or advance in the art of war.

There’s are some big reasons you’ll want to ramp up your visualization skills:

You must know that when you make a real strong focused visualization the brain cannot distinguish between an actual experience, and a vividly imagined one. And you can use this fact to your advantage. So by practicing your mental visualization techniques become stronger and you can put yourself in different scenarios programing your brain to have the right response.

To give you an example. Let’s say you think and you know that in any moment it’s existing the probability of a home invasion. You live in a rural area more far from the city. And let’s say also that you keep in the night the handgun in the safe near you. Also you were thinking that if is happing a home invasion you send your wife to the children room and tell them to barricade  or whatever plan you have. Now let’s say that one night after a long period this is really happening. You are sleeping in the bed, is 3 AM and you hear a window breaking and noise in the house. The heart bits are immediately increasing, respiration is increasing, you begin to shake, you have a moment of freezing, blockage. When you go to your safe to put the code, because you are a law abiding citizen( keeping the gun in the safe) you find out that your fine motor skills are not operating at the same level, and also your brain cannot remember fast the pin. After you try few times you take the handgun shacking, adrenalin is rushing true your body. You send your wife in the children room that also scared she don’t take the mobile phone, and you go to check downstairs. It is silence now but you feel your heartbeats you want to not make noises but you cannot control your noisy fast breathing. You see studently a silhouette and you open fire. You see flashes’ of muzzle fire also from the other direction. Suddenly you feel like a burn in your chest and your leg. You are down on the stairs and you cannot breath normal anymore, you feel a lot of tension in your lung, you have respiration distress and you see that  a lot off blood is around you coming from your leg. The home invaders are gone, but until your wife is exiting from the room check you out, take the telephone from the other room, and until the emergency medical unit are coming, you loose to much blood and you die.

This can be a scenario! And also can exit a probability to happen. And is only an example, we don’t discuss here about the fact that you will not put the gun in the safe or I don’t know what. Is only an example.  So by first having a good plan for this situation, you will be more prepared. Because is not enough to have a gun or a blade. So in this case a medical trauma kit is essential to have ( tourniquets, chest seals…). Than the fact that they were not practicing the plan they were making mistakes. So after you have the tools, you must have also a plan and you must also train physically for this scenario.

Then is entering in the discussion the NLP visualization. And by choosing a place without being disturbed, closing your eyes you breath deep and slow until you feel relaxed. You don’t need I don’t know what yoga lotus position. You can also lay in the bed. You begin to visualize exactly as in the earlier  scenario. A sudden noise waking you up, feeling your heart beats and respiration increasing you visualize the same changes that happen in your body. There are 4 main things that you must fallow in your visualization practice. What I SEE ? What I FEEL? What I HEAR ? and What I SMELL. By fallowing this elements you will be able to construct a strong visualization scenario. Hearing your own breath, the noises in the house. Felling the warm blood, smelling the smoke from the gun powder and so on. So you repeat the same scenario only that now you are trained. You send your wife to the children room tacking the telephone with her and already calling the emergency number. You put the code fast and you take the gun but also the small backpack that you prepare and in which you have the trauma medical kit.

And from here you can change the scenario or let it as it was. Only that now to the massive bleeding that you have on the femoral artery you applied a tourniquet and control the bleeding. And with the help of your wife with whom you trained before you apply also a chest seal to your open chest wound. So the emergency system is arriving and you receive specialized medical care.

Strong visualization, since it is taken as “real” by the brain, builds a sense of familiarity and absolute certainty in moving through a series of movements and outcomes.

This is a practice that requires discipline  and because of this factor most people are clueless about when they think about visualization.

The visualization  goes further than just “imagine an opponent’s face!” It is a key skill that requires discipline and proper focus. And it’s worth developing this habit deeply.

I want to underline that the combat visualization is more brutal and more touching than the visualization that you find to fighters in a ring.

Now you must understand that the NLP visualization techniques can be apply to create the combat mindset.
